This is the Whipple observatory road. Whipple is part of the Smithsonian institution.
The road is 13 kilometers of single track mountain gravel road rising over 2 kilometers in height.
You can see the ovservatory from our lot in the high desert...it is probably about 10 miles as the crow flies but was a 40 km scooter ride to get there.

We had a blast on this road...Mona even opened her eyes a couple of times!

Back at Rio Rico

Here is our trailer on our lot in Arizona. We are enjoying our time here...until March 29.

This was a cattle drive we had to stop for on the Ruby road scenic drive.

The locked gate to the ghost town of Ruby Az. Once it had over 2,000 residents. Now it is really the middle of nowhere, but the dirt road to it has amazing views.
Ground zero for illegals from Mexico looking for nirvana in the US.

Some of the amazing scenery.
